healthcon 2017 5 things to look forward to at HEALTHCON 2017 healthcon logo

Do you have the session schedule memorized? Are your bags packed? Are you getting excited now that HEALTHCON is less than 5 days away? If you answered, ‘yes,’ then we are all on the same page! The MedKoder team is excited to join you this year in Las Vegas for AAPC’s annual conference. In the last final days before the conference, we want to share with you our top 5 things to look forward to at HEALTHCON 2017:

1) Educational Sessions

HEALTHCON has 90+ educational sessions available to you to learn from the healthcare industry’s leaders and subject matter experts. The session topics will be a compilation of high quality educational sessions covering areas of Outpatient Coding, Billing, Auditing, Compliance, Inpatient Coding, and Practice Management.

MedKoder’s very own subject matter expert and Physician Coding Auditor/Educator Consultant, Angela Clements, CPC, CPC-I, COSC, CEMC, CGS, CCS, will present during Session 5A on Navigating NCCI and its Modifiers – “Modifier 59 is the most abused modifier. Stop relying on software edits to tell you to place the modifier on a CPT code. Learn how to look up NCCI edits and appropriately apply modifier 59, XE, XP, XS, and XU.”

Be sure to check out Angie’s session on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 11:15 – 12:30 PM.

Don’t forget: Keep track of all the educational sessions you attend, because you will earn CEUs!

2) Networking with Healthcare Professionals

Not only will you have the opportunity to reconnect with friends you may have met from previous AAPC conferences, but you will also have the opportunity to make new connections with 3,000 other healthcare professionals. Whether sitting in a session, browsing the exhibit hall, or even standing in line for lunch, take this time to meet other attendees around you.

“HEALTHCON is a great place to network, gain knowledge and obtain invaluable friendships,” says a current National Advisory Board Member of AAPC.

3) Giveaways, Swag, Trinkets, Tchotchke

You haven’t truly experienced a conference if you haven’t returned home with more items than what you took along with you to the conference. One thing to look forward to at HEALTHCON is walking through the exhibit hall and meeting over 75 exhibitors who offer tons of promotional items, product samples, and even demonstrations.

4) Staying Social

We talked about all of the networking opportunities available to you at HEALTHCON, but in the technology-focused world we live in today, networking goes further than meet and greets. AAPC allows their attendees, exhibitors, and staff to stay connected through social media platforms using the official HEALTHCON hashtag: #HCON17  We encourage you to follow the hashtag on your social media sites and explore what others are sharing about their own HEALTHCON experience.

The MedKoder team is joining AAPC’s HEALTHCON social media outreach with an Employee Instagram Takeover! During the conference, May 6 – May 10th, five MedKoder team members will takeover MedKoder’s official Instagram page and share their personal experiences while at HEALTHCON. We invite you to follow our Instagram page and join our team’s journey through HEALTHCON 2017.
